ON EL CAMINO DE SANTIAGO
The Camino de Santiago is a unique experience that takes place following the path that leads to the tomb of the Apostle Santiago. This route is taken by millions of pilgrims. Most people walk it, but it can also be done by bicycle and on horseback.
No matter what your motivation or your reasons for doing the Camino, there are many different profiles: people who want to visit the tomb of the apostle, regain their will, learn the language, find themselves, the culture, meet friends along the way, get fit...
What is the minimum distance? To get the Compostela (the certificate that is given to every pilgrim who has completed the Camino de Santiago according to the rules and stamping the pilgrim's credential), the minimum distance to be covered is 100km on foot, or 200km by bicycle or on horseback. Of course, you can do more kilometers, it all depends on your physical condition, your character, your interests, your expectations?
Where do you start from? There are many routes throughout Europe, you can start from the one that suits you best, either by proximity or interest.
This is a very easy experience because there are signs along the way that point you in the right direction. In addition, access to the routes is free and you do not need to ask for permission to enjoy this experience. Doing the Camino is not dangerous, in fact, pilgrims are considered "family" and are accepted with sympathy and kindness.
